Yang Liu is a Melbourne based photographer with a special interest in landscape and the built environment.  Elements from within built environments that resonate with Yang and his photographic vision are structure and line, shape and patterns.
Yang takes his inspiration from many sources – music, books, the arts, travel and other photographers.  In particular, is the group who studied under Bernd and Hiller Becher in the Dusseldorf School of Photography.  Andreas Gursky and Candida Hofer are standouts to Yang.  The precision and finesse evidenced in Gurksy’s and Hofers work are aspects which he strives to emulate within his own image making.
Yang travels as much as he can, and aims to see as much as the world as possible.  Having covered chunks of Asia and Europe, Yang can’t wait to experience more places – soon.  With his camera in hand.
